A Box Boat

Ever since Kimbri started preschool last fall, it has given me some extra Garrett time. Time that I can lay on the floor and be silly with him, got to the park with him, read books with him, or play trucks and trains with him. 

Of course there are also times that we have to go get the grocery shopping done or get cleaning done (and Garrett is such a good little helper!) but I try to make it a point to just sit with Garrett and do whatever he wants for a little while when Kimbri is at school. 

Garrett has such a special and sweet personality. He has a sensitive and loving soul. Often times, he gives up something for someone else when he can tell that they are sad. Like the other day at the park, he was playing with his Paw Patrol trucks and a little boy came up and wanted to take them from Garrett. When the little boy's mom told him not to touch the trucks, he got super sad and started crying. Garrett watched the crying boy for all of about 3 seconds and said, "Here you go. You can play with it." And it made my mama heart so proud that he was so willing to share! Garrett also is constantly asking me what I need help with. He helps me with laundry (he loves putting stuff in the dryer for me), cooking, and cleaning up stuff with his trucks.  I feel like I see so much of Rick's kind heart in him. And I hope Garrett grows up to be just like him:) 

Anyway, the other day we made a boat out of a box we had. Garrett was pretty excited about it, if you couldn't tell from his face, haha. And then he wanted Brenna to have a turn in the boat. 

We also have been going on walks while Kimbri is at preschool. The weather has been fantastic and the other day we walked to pick Kimbri up from preschool. Such blue skies and sunny weather!

Garrett is such a great big brother. Whenever Brenna is having tummy time, he always runs over and lays on his tummy too. He talks to her and rubs her head all the time and sings her songs. He loves her so much and it is so sweet!
