1st Week Home

The first week home with Cameron was pretty crazy and hectic! Also, be prepared for a TON of newborn pictures. I'm slightly obsessed with our new little baby :)

First, we got home on Friday, May 18 and that same evening Rick's mom, Sundee, came into town. We feel so incredibly grateful that it all worked out for her to come visit! Mike ended up having a work conference in D.C. so he flew there and Sundee flew here to Fayetteville. Then very late Saturday night Mike took a train down from D.C. and Cosette Sundee went to pick him up from the station. It was so amazing that the kids got to spend time with Grandma & Grandpa Stone.

Rick's last day off before going back to work was Saturday, so he even got to spend some time with his mom while she was here. We thought Sundee would really enjoy touring the Poe House that Rick and I had gone on a date a few weeks before Cameron was born. So Rick, Cosette and Sundee all went on Saturday afternoon and did a tour of the home.

On Sunday, Rick had to go to work. Sundee helped get all the kids ready for church. We were almost finished getting the ready when Rick texted saying they got all their work done and the attending let him go early! Occasionally on weekends it's not as busy so it worked out perfect that, that was a day he got done early and could go to church with his parents and the 3 older kids.

Sunday evening we made a freezer meal that I had thrown in the crockpot that morning- black bean and corn salsa chicken. Sundee helped get everything else prepped for dinner like chopping up lettuce, tomatoes, etc.. We even made cilantro lime ranch dressing, yum!

Monday morning Cameron had a check up so it was really nice that Mike and Sundee were still in town and could watch the older kids while I took Cameron to his appointment. The nurse decided that we needed to get his bilirubin levels checked for jaundice. I figured we'd probably need to because of how yellow his eyes had gotten and his skin was pretty yellow-orange. She gave us some prescription papers to take to the lab by the hospital to get him checked. His bilirubin ended up being 15.3 which is on the high end so they said to come back tomorrow for another test.

I had to take Cameron to the dr for his 5 day check up. I was
worried about how he was doing in his car seat so at a red light
I reached back and took a picture because I couldn't see him
since he was rear facing. He was awake but his eyes
looked super heavy as he stared out the window.

We finally got home in time to let the grandparents have some more snuggles with Cameron just in time before they had to pack up and head to the airport. It was hard to say goodbye since we don't know when we'll get to see them again but we were so happy for the time that we did get to spend together.

Tummy time!

On May 22, late that night, we picked up my mom and Olivia from the Fayetteville airport. It's about 20 minutes from our house. We got back and talked while they both took turns holding Cameron for the first time. After some baby snuggles we all went to bed since it was so late. Rick had already gone to sleep since he had to get up at 5:30 the next morning.

Cameron's first outing besides the dr office

graduation at St. Andrews Academy. It was
fun to have Gma Tammy and Olivia there for it!

sweet and gentle with Cameron. She loves him
and always wants to kiss, hug, and hold him.

Cameron had his 1 week check up on May 25 (technically he was 9 days old) while my mom and Olivia were here. It happened to be Rick's day off so they offered to watch Garrett & Brenna (Kimbri was still in school) while Rick and I got to take Cameron together to his appointment-- a rare opportunity with how crazy Rick's schedule has been the last couple months. It was fun! He was already back up and passed his birth weight, weighing in at 10 lbs and 5 oz. He's such a big boy!

They also said after the last lab results (my mom, Olivia, the kids and I had gone in 2 days before to get his heel pricked to check for bilirubin) that he was doing fine and things were looking much better. So that's great news!

After we got home from the doctors appointment I fed Cameron and made sure he was good and full. Since it was Olivia's 19th birthday we wanted to go out to lunch and celebrate. With it being Rick's day off he was more than happy to watch the kids, including Cameron, so I could go out with my mom and sister.  It was weird to leave Cameron! But it was really fun to go to lunch. Olivia wanted to eat at Olive Garden so we went there and had some yummy pasta! They bought out Olivia a free birthday dessert. Since Cameron was still snoozing by the time we finished eating we drove down the street to the mall for a little birthday shopping. Olivia got some new workout clothes. She's been really getting good at weight-lifting! She even found a gym while she was here visiting- so diligent!

After getting back from lunch and shopping my mom and I worked on making strawberry fluff for Olivia's birthday. She wanted the fluff stuff instead of cake so we made that happen :) We also went and picked up dinner at Panda Express which was so yummy! It was a fun day to celebrate Olivia turning 19, her last year in her teens! And next month I'll be turning 29, my last year in my 20's! Ahhh! It's so crazy how time just continues to march on and it seems to get faster and faster. I'm grateful to have such amazing people in my life!
