Rick is the big 26!
On his birthday he had to take a big old test, which was a bummer, but that didn't stop us from celebrating breakfast still. Rick looooves donuts so we surprised him with a donut platter. I think the kids may have been more excited than he was. Haha!
After breakfast, Rick had to take off to the testing center. They have a small group that parks at the school and then they carpool so since someone else was driving that day, we snuck over to the school while Rick was gone taking his test and we decorated his car with window markers!

| We also traced the kids' hands on the windows. |
After we got home from decorating Rick's car, we worked on making a candy poster for him. The kids had a hard time keeping their hands off the candy! Haha!
Rick got home from his test and the kids jumped out and yelled "Surprise!" with balloons and the candy poster. I think he was pretty surprised :)
Then we all hopped in the car and took off to go take advantage of all the free food and treats you can get on your birthday! Our first stop was Bahama Bucks to get a free shave ice!
Then we headed over to the Sweet Tooth Fairy and Rick got to pick out a free cupcake. After we were all sugared out from sharing the snow cone and cupcake, we decided to go grab some food. There's a place called Firehouse Subs that gives you a free sandwich on your birthday so we drove over there and Rick ran in and picked up his sandwich. Meanwhile, Kimbri fell asleep. I guess she was worn out from going from one thing to the next during the day, getting everything ready for Rick's birthday. And instead of falling asleep, Garrett was just starting to act loopy and very silly. He was making funny faces and then laughing his head off. Haha!
After picking up the sandwich we made our way over to Liberty Market and got a HUGE piece of free carrot cake. We tasted it but saved the rest for another day because we already had, had so many sweets. Then we picked up more free food at Joe's Real BBQ and Joe's Farm Grill. Rick ate from the BBQ and he picked up a pesto chicken sandwich for me at the Farm Grill. Each place gives you $10 free on your birthday so we both ate that for dinner. It was delicious!
Then later that night we ate cake! Jessica had offered to babysit so we could go out on a birthday date so when she got their we all sang Happy Birthday to Rick and ate Oreo Ice Cream Cake, per Rick's request. It too, was yummy, along with everything else we had eaten that day. But it was worth it! As student's you can never pass up free food. And we had so many leftovers for the next day too, obviously, since we got so much free food! Haha. We also had gotten a free Red Robin burger earlier that week and a free birthday meal from Cafe Zupas. Yum!
Happy birthday, Rick!! I hope it was a good one! It will be a few months before I join the 26 year old club with you ;)
